Product development: from idea to bestseller

At Verduin Agency, we do more than distribution. With over 25 years of experience in the mobility industry and a strong network of suppliers, we actively develop new bicycle parts that respond to market demand. What starts as a demand from the Benelux, often grows into a successful product throughout Europe.

Innovating together with our partners

Our strength lies in cooperation. Together with manufacturers such as Eurofender, Ursus, Polisport, Bobike and Herrmans, we translate market needs into concrete products – from stands to fender systems, lighting and child seats.

Eurofender: smart fender solutions

The cycling world was once in a fender dilemma. Everyone wanted a smart single stay, but we only had V-stays or kids bike-stays. Not very exciting. Until we teamed up with Curana. That resulted in not one, but several smart solutions:

  • Snello – click, secure, ready. For 46 and 51 mm fenders.
  • Tempo – once developed specifically for Giant, but now loved by many.
  • Lampo – for 51 and 58 mm fenders, with choice: mounted inside or outside.

And then when our customers asked for a security release system, we thought: must be possible! Together with a Dutch engineering partner, we came up with Resista. Safe, stylish and fully patent-proof. With a little design-magic from Curana, it also looks sleek.

In short: smart fender systems that make your bike better, nicer and safer.

Ursus: from tender to trendsetter

The cooperation with Ursus began with the Elegance. A simple kickstand, with which we could compete mainly on price. Nothing special… until we participated in a tender with Batavus in 2002. We didn’t win, but we got something much more valuable in return: inspiration.

We said: we’ll just make a unique stand ourselves – adjustable, sturdy and with a wide angle. And so the King was born. Perfectly timed, because Sparta had just launched the ION e-bike. The King fitted in so well that it became a dream launch. First with OEM, later also in the aftermarket: the kickstand was a success everywhere.

This was followed by the Queen and the Wave. But the market wanted something else: a slimmer and more stylish model. Together with a Dutch designer, we designed the Mooi. “Mooi” because when we discussed the design with Ursus we literally said: it just has to be beautiful. And so it did. By now one of our bestsellers, both the center and rear stands.

And as e-bikes got bigger and heavier, we came up with the Mooi Plus. This powerhouse can carry up to 35 pounds, making it the perfect stand for heavy-duty e-bikes. And that innovation was quickly recognized by the industry and earned us the Bicycle Innovation Award 2024.

From innovation to sales success: the evolution of Bobike

When we acquired Bobike from Dremefa, speed was of the essence. The market was changing rapidly and both retailers and consumers were calling for a fresh direction. Our ambition? To design a new generation of child seats that looks modern but stays true to the iconic Bobike look. Compare it to a Porsche 911: always innovative, but always recognizable.

Within one year we introduced the Bobike One – 100% Dutch design. A strong start followed, and soon this model grew into a bestseller.

Then we set our sights on Europe. With the Bobike Go Maxi, we launched a user-friendly rear seat with smart carrier attachment. The response was overwhelming, which led to the introduction of the Bobike Go Mini – a front seat to match this new model line.

The Classic Junior also received a complete makeover. The result? The Bobike One Junior; a completely new rear seat for children up to 35kg, designed in the Netherlands, aimed at the specific needs of the Dutch consumer. Easy to mount, foldable, extra protection for children’s feet and attractively priced. It has become one of our most popular models.
